Wolfgang Van Halen's band Mammoth have joined the line-up for Alter Bridge's inaugural Blackbird Festival in Wales this summer.
Headlined and curated by the Myles Kennedy-led Florida rockers, Blackbird Festival will take place on June 27 at Cardiff Castle and forms part of the 2026 TK Maxx presents Depot Live series. Van Halen said:
"It’s always amazing to be able to play a show with our brothers in Alter Bridge, I’m honoured to be able to play the first Blackbird Festival!"
Acts already confirmed to perform include Welsh bands Skindred, Florence Black and Cardinal Black. Previously announced British rockers Bush have cancelled their appearance at the event, along with a series of other European dates.
Mammoth, formerly known as Mammoth WVH, released their latest album, 'The End', last October via BMG. The American rock band are currently touring the US with 10 Years and James And The Cold Gun, and will perform in Cincinnati, Ohio tonight (April 1), before dates later this spring supporting Bush on their The Land of Milk and Honey Tour across the US, which will also feature openers James And The Cold Gun. .
Mammoth will also play previously scheduled shows across Europe this summer, including performances in Belfast and Southampton and an appearance at Derby's Download festival in June, followed by further European dates during the autumn and winter for The End Tour. That run includes a London date at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on November 24, following their earlier arena shows in Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester supporting Deep Purple.
Alter Bridge released their self-titled eighth studio album through Napalm Records in January and recently completed the UK and European leg of their What Lies Within Tour, which heads across the US this spring. They'll also perform intimate shows in Dunfermline and Belfast before Blackbird Festival.
Also set to headline shows for the Depot Live series this summer are Garbage and Skunk Anansie, McFly, Ethel Cain, Biffy Clyro, Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, and more you can view here.
