Kneecap have released the title track of their upcoming album.
Celebrating identity and community, the bold eponymous track from 'FENIAN' is described by the Irish rap trio as, "an anthem to embrace our Fenian past, and to cure our colonial hangover by reconnecting the warriors of Irish folklore with the Fenian c*nts from the North of Ireland today."
Head below to view the accompanying Thomas James-directed video, shot in and around West Belfast. James said: "For me, this track is about a reclaiming of identity. Not only of the word, but for people too. Which is what our film is. A trippy whirlwind through people and places who embody the spirit of the boys and the song. Of seeing the word Fenian through a new lens.
"It was a blast. It was chaos. It was a fever dream of running around Ireland convincing people to pop a bally on and do something mental. Good times had by all."
Following earlier singles Smugglers & Scholars and Liars Tale, the track marks the latest preview of the Dan Carey-produced follow-up to 2024's 'Fine Art', due out through Heavenly Recordings on May 1, a week later than originally announced.
Kneecap will build up to the album's release with out-store gigs in Kingston, Brighton, Bristol, Nottingham, Dundee, Edinburgh and London the week before. The intimate shows will take place before their biggest headline performance to date at London's Crystal Palace Park on June 27, featuring support from The Mary Wallopers, Fat Dog, Biig Piig, Gurriers and Madra Salach.
