Arlo Parks Shares New Single Beams Prior To Release Of 'Ambiguous Desire'

Arlo Parks has shared another single ahead of the release of her third album.
Serving up trip hop influences with hints of Massive Attack, Beams blends the Mercury Prize-winning artist's signature soft vocals with light electronic textures and arrives with a video directed by Rob Thorogood. Parks said:
"It’s about the pain of feeling discarded, or feeling like the oldest hurt that you carry around like a stone is a burden not just to you but to everyone around you – the worst fear. It’s about numbness and fight, flight or freeze. But it’s also about trying to (slowly but surely) want better for yourself and realise that you are loveable as a whole.”
The track marks the final preview of 'Ambiguous Desire', due out this Friday (April 3), and follows Parks' earlier singles Get Go, Heaven and 2SIDED.
Parks will celebrate the album's release with a series of out-store UK shows, kicking off tomorrow at Fabric in London. This summer, she'll embark on the Desire World Tour across North America from August 29 to October 1, followed by the UK and European leg between October 17 and December 2. Tickets are on sale now.
